JBWKZ Presents: The Robot Remains (Mixtape)

OMG just released yesterday after their performance on ABDC. The Bangerz who do all the music for the JabbaWockeeZ released their 1st mixtape, a number of them which the crew has performed but also a lot new ones.

Remixes featuring Michael Jackson, Jay-Z, Kanye West, The Ting Tings, Drake, Black Eyed Peas, Robin Thicke, Busta Rhymes, Gene Kelly, and MORE.

ABDC – Champions For Charity

Truly his age, size, and cuteness stole the show

Unbelievable such an amazing show each crew did they're thing and how some really exciting and jaw dropping moments. Shows how different each crew from one another with their unique style and energy they brought to the performance. This is why the West Coast has the best dance crews!

Favorite moments:

Quest's (group) opening multiple crossing flip, over, under –that was just insane
Poreotix: as they wave their bodies and moved into their tuts in different directions
We Are Heroes: right at the beginning, crazy intro into their tight locking
Quest Ryan doing crazy assisted headspins into black flip landing on his head (camera missed it) and then Hok & D-trix jumping/threading through the other guys legs (and nice recovery when the other trick didn't follow through)
Super Cr3w...damn Jalen stole the show forsure! He showed that he could keep up with the rest of the crews and the headspins were perfect
JBWKZ: still mesmerizing to watch, mixture of fluid and robotic movement just as crazy as their robot creature. SO DIFFERENT

ABDC5 – Season Review

After 2 seasons The Fan-favorite Finally Makes It!

Overall it was a better season compared to the previous one. I was happy with all the crews that competed. The producers this time picked a stronger choreo-based group of crews (besides Saltare) that just danced with no gimmicks or anything annoying. It made a good seasons since it was the slight differences and distinction in style that made one crew stand out over the other.

My problem with the season was the challenges, they have a good group of crews and the had to mess it up with repetitive and dumb challenges (besides the Disco and Hip-Hop Nation Week). Also the camera angles were starting to piss me off, the cuts and constant movement of the camera lost a lot of the details and the choreography. It works good with crews like Saltare who just do tricks non-stop. Overall not a bad season just didn't reach its full potential with the crews working towards their strengths.

Top 5 Performances

5 Hype 5-0's Regional Performance:
Auditioning since season 3 Hype brought a lot of fast pace intense choreo. What was insane about it was how clean their moves and formations was on stage. What I really liked about this performance out of their other ones is they had the right amount of tricks, choreo, energy into that one performance.

4 Static Noyze's East Coast Battle Performance:
I was really excited about this crew since I saw their actual audition performance. What i really liked was their mixture of contemporary and hip-hop style which blended well when they were doing hard or smooth choreography. This performance in particular showed their unique style and raw energy. It really showed their wide abilities and creativity that beat out the other two crews.

3 Jungle Boogie's National Performance:
From season 2 I didn't think there would be ANY good crew from the south. But they proved me wrong. At the first episode of the season this performance to “How Low” showed their crazy high energy, swagger, and their abilities to bring something completely different compared to the other coasts.

2 Blueprint Cru's “Bad Romance” Performance:
Why such a good performance? C'mon it had everything. Number 1 it showed how versatile the crew was throughout the entire performance not just within their hip-hop but other styles as well. Number 2 their entire set how they started to how they ended embodied Lady Gaga and moved past the original music video choreography. Number 3 they are just a tight crew, all their movement was precise and this performance just went beyond with story and even character.

1 Poreotix's “Tetreotix” Performance:
This one was really hard to decide since they had some really outstanding performance that either really showed off their style (Love Story) or showed their growth in the show (Dancing Machine). What I really liked about this performance was finally the camera angles were a lot better and focused on their choreography. What is unique about their style and the reason why I like them so much is the minimal movement and the amount of control in their dancing. It takes a lot to do a flip or an amazing trick just as much as controlling parts of your body directly to the the rhythm of a song. A lot of viewers who have been following them complain they've seen these moves before but honestly it was a performance for the fans and showed no compromise to criticism.

Alicia Keys' Freedom Tour

Shout-outs to Flow 93.5 for the winning tickets. It was such an amazing concert if your a big fan of Ms. Keys you gotta hear her live. Her voice is amazing and she sounds good LIVE. Plus her line-up was really good with home-grown Toronto artist Melanie Fiona with special guest Kardinal Offishall and half-Canadian Robin Thicke.

Openers Robin Thicke & Melanie Fiona promoting their new albums check them out.

ABDC5 – Ep 8 Notes/Prediction

Very good enjoyed the last episode and happy about the top two. Blueprint Cru and Poreotix both show such a high energy and crazy level of skills in their own style. It's a close competition pretty much as good as season 3 with Quest and Beat Freaks. Seems like the producers really put their money on these two crews since they've both competed in Hip Hop International, which the producers of ABDC are also apart of. I'll make another review about the entire season on another post.

But I'm still rooting for POREOTICS and their TIC-TIC-TIC. Just a big fan of the crew. Their Last Chance was Epic and really for the fans and those who haven't really seen all their elaborate and mind blowing moves.

Sidebar: Thats choreographer Napoleon D'umo in the middle

Stayed Tuned for Tomorrow since I'll be posting all the performances!!
