If You Don't Know –Colin Munroe
Colin Munroe is a producer, song writer, and an upcoming artist from Toronto, Canada. He's an alternative-pop artist but also works with a lot of hip hop artists. I took notice of him from his Remix/Rendition to Kanye West's Flashing Lights. He's known for playing a bunch of instruments simultaneously live. Check out his music, you might have heard on the radio.
Colin has worked with and been featured with artists including: Drake, Wale, Mims, Dallas Austin, Divine Brown, Bun B. and many more.

Proj –"Nothing Good Happens After 2am"
April 22-23. Throughout my first year at York I experienced a lot of all-nighters! Esp for my art and design projects with details, thinking of new concepts, and just finishing the project. This one included my Abstract Drawing class in which we had to create a drawing device that creates marks (like a Pen or Paint brush).
And as you can see during the late hours it does have an effect...
Was also working on my design project trying to pick the final print
At the end of the day working with candles and fire

–JBWKZ: A Figment of Your Imagination
1st season champions! Taking a look back on their old routines shows why they would still kill the competition. I love their "beginning-ending transitions" since the next routine starts where the last one ended.

ABDC4 –Recap Episode 3
Oh man its one of those episodes in the season when the majority of crews struggle to make a decent routine. Again Rhythm City killed and I can't believe they were on the bottom, they've got the most potential. I dun get how they weakest crews still got saved: Afroborike and Beat Ya Feet Kings. Even Southern Movement stepped it up this week.
But I'm glad Shane Sparks actually spoke up and started to give harsh comments. Just watch his expression, if he's that bored and doesn't say "Y'all Smashed It", then you know its a bad episode. Gonna take awhile (or not all) to revive a dying season.

Preview –ABDC Compilations
So I have been meaning to share this with you since I'm a big fan of the show and crews. With some of my favorite crews in the past seasons I have created compilation videos of all of their performances on the show (even some that never aired in Canada). Be sure to watch out for the download in the next couple of weeks.

Proj –History of Communication
This was one of the last projects I worked on for my Typography class (in the fall). It consisted of using all our knowledge in text-layout, hierarchy, and legibility. We also had to research another form of communication in which I picked "Chinese Ideograms". I had to try to replicate the way they write using actual ink.
The objective was to design a poster as if we were creating a poster for the Royal Ontario Museum. My goal was to get the viewer to grasp the information/visuals within a couple of seconds, though I probably would want to refine or re-create this project again (since this was a project post-York Strike...).
No I actually took a picture of this. The blend I used (on the computer) took away from its authenticity.

Intro –Busog (pronuced Boo-Soog)
Busog is a clothing company established in New York by a number of designers and artists. The word "Busog" comes from the Filipino word being "full" (of food). Really like their concept and goal of using a Filipino term and implementing that into their clothing wear. "Our goal is that you are full and satisfied". Click Here for more about Busog
For a new independent clothing brand they got a lot of nice stuff & sponsors:
This one is called "Panda Sal" named after the Filipino bread "Pandesal"
They got some of the best Pacquiao Tee Designs.
Also design shirts for artists like Lil Jon & Drake
Supported and worn by Beat Freaks, Quest, Fanny Pak, and recently Rhythm City

Proj –Web Links & Images
This project was created in my Interactive Design class using simple HTML & CSS coding (that stuff that goes into making web pages & layouts online). For this particular project we laid out images that people can interact with. Certain images can be clicked and linked into another page. I also included a navigation menu to allow people to easily move through pages as well.
Sidebar: AA (Asian Avenue) actually helped a lot when I got back to working with HTML lol no lie.

Proj –Meaning Through Imagery
This was my first project for my Design & Image class. It consisted of taking an object which was Shoes and creating a number of layouts that showed Connotative and Denotative meanings. In other words the ideas we normally associate shoes with (like shoes coming in pairs, and made for our feet) as well as implying further/social meaning (as in brand name shoes representing wealth).
There was a lot freedom with this project in choosing the style and images. Getting the images probably took the most time since my Prof wanted a majority of original sketches, photos, and digital renderings.
Inspiration lol, I picked shoes since I can take a variety of images

Here's some layout examples:

ABDC4 –Recap Episode 2
We Are Heroes killed it, though my prediction for the eliminated crew sucks. Southern Movement & Beat Ya Feet Kings gotta go! Artistry in Motion didn't deserve to go home cause they had a strong performance and a lot of potential.
Video starts 1:21. Although you can also watch the beginning pretty funny esp. that phone part lol. I dunno dude's videos haven't been taken down yet so it is working.
